The FDA approved a petition filed February 11, 1998 to allow the superior flowability properties of powdered cellulose to be combined with the shelf life extension qualities of natamycin and applied in a one-step, dry application. The new patent pending technology has been designed to meet the needs of cheese manufacturers looking for an effective and easy way to use natamycin to enhance shelf life of cheese by allowing a dry application in the same circumstances where aqueous application is currently allowed.
